Seven players who played for the national teams of Austria and Slovenia in the amateur international matches in November 2023 and April 2024 get professional contracts from professional clubs.
There is great joy among players, coaches and club representatives and the initiators of the "Amateur National Teams - Back on/to Stage" movement that 7 players have received a professional contract with professional clubs in Austria, Slovenia and even in Germany for the upcoming 2024/2025 football season. It is concrete proof that the revivel of the amateur national team football format makes sense and is an ideal stage and platform for amateur football in general and is an optimal stage and springboard for a professional career for many talented and high-quality amateur footballers.
Of course, the players were signed by the professional clubs primarily because of their achievements and performance in the respective amateur clubs, but it underlines that the coaches, supervisors and managers of the amateur national teams of Austria and Slovenia have done a very good job with their know-how and competence in selecting the amateur national players and have shown a deft hand. Already at the two amateur international matches in November 2023 and April 2024, the head coaches Albert Parth, Kurt Stuck (AUT) and Ales Dolinar (SLO) predicted that some players from the amateur selection have everything they need for professional football and are convinced that some will make it. The prophecies have come true.
