REGULATIONS

Amateur Nationalteam Selections

Eligibility to play and participate

In general, and fundamentally, the current and worldwide FIFA match regulations apply for international matches.

Specifically for the NATIONAL AMATEUR SELECTION format regarding eligibility to play and participate, the following statute was adapted, defined, and written down as closely as possible to the FIFA match regulations:

All players, coaches and staff members who are called up and take part in the highest NATIONAL AMATEUR SELECTION must have the citizenship of their nation and prove it with a passport or identity card. Only players, coaches and staff members who have had purely amateur status in the past and who are currently amateur players, amateur coaches or amateur staff members are eligible to play and take part.

Current playing amateur players from an amateur team of a professional club or youth academy teams from a professional club are not eligible to play. If players get education and played in a professional club academy or in an amateur team of a professional club in the past, they are eligible to play and take part. Players who have had a young professional contract in the past or who were part of a squad with playing time in an official professional championship or cup match of a professional club are excluded. Players who have played in past in a national youth or adult team of an association are also not eligible to play.

Players, coaches, and supervisors should be nominated, recruited and appointed to the NATIONAL AMATEUR SELECTION from the best and highest semi/pro legaue or amateur leagues in the respective nation. Each NATIONAL AMATEUR SELECTION consists of a maximum of 18 squad players and a maximum of 6-man coaching and support staff. The minimum age for participating players is 18 years. No further age determination applies to the amateur players called up to the nominated squad of the respective NATIONAL AMATEUR SELECTION.

The representation and consideration of regional or state associations in the respective nation is the second major and important selection criterion when selecting and calling up players, alongside the purely amateur status of players, coaches, and supervisors, and is a prerequisite for eligibility to play and participate.

Examples: Nations, Regional and state associations/number of players eligible to play

AUSTRIA & SLOVENIA

Football-Regional Assoziations: 0

Football-States: 9

Number of players per region or state: 2

CROATIA & GERMANY

Football-Regional Assoziations: 5

Football-States: 21

Number of players per region or state: 3-4

The regional association before the state association determines the number of players eligible to play and participate per regional or state association.

The accuracy and verification of the eligibility of each player, coach and supervisor is carried out in collaboration with the respective national, regional and state association and by licensed FIFA Match Agents.
